does next ver. "Undiluted Platinum" can support TA-082 ?
i don't think so :P

i wish they can, but i don't think so !
because i don't think they can crack "PSP Bootstrap" :P

does "Undiluted Platinum" support PSP new ver. hardware(TA-082) ?
i don't think so !
http://0okm.blogspot.com/2006/05/does-undiluted-platinum-support-psp.html

Undiluted Platinum is NOT support TA-082 :P
http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=22438
We now have the official diagrams for the world's first and incredibly advanced PSP Modchip called the Undiluted Platinum (info. The diagrams show the installation position of the FPC cables , traces which require soldering of wire to and usage procedure of the installation aids. The first release is for Motherboard TA-079, with TA-080 and TA-081 to follow tomorrow. TA-082 is not supported, however, they seem to be limited to Asia and have 2.6 or above firmwares. We believe that overall numbers of TA-082 as a proportion compared with TA-079, TA-080 and TA-081, should be quite limited.

Note :
i have 3 pcs PSP is TA-082
PSP-1000 (Box Code H) come with FW2.50
PSP-1000 (Box Code I) come with FW2.60
PSP-1006CW (Box Code I) come with FW2.60

so check your PCB ver before buy !!

TA-082 : when open UMD door, you can see IR LABEL IC1003

TA-082's IR LABEL IC1003 on IR left side, so you can see it :D

TA-079/TA-080/TA-081's IR LABEL IC1003 on IR right side, so you can't see it :P

how do you know it's a 082 without opening the PSP up??

0okms has a PSP1000 H TA-082. Which means 2 things: TA-082 can run H firmware and it is possible for every H boxcode to contain a TA-082 pcb.

I hope that the TA-082 is until now not available as PSP1001-H because FCC listing is not found at least until june, 10th, 2006.

But as 0okm pointed out, FCC is about wifi, not so much about the main PCB. So it is not totally safe right now.

For PSP1004 and 1004KCW you have CE, no foto's needed, so no information avalable. I would expect that all 1004-H are TA-081 but this is not sure.

To Ryan: look under the battery at the datecode. If old enough then is it below TA-082. Also look at the FCC ID. AK8PSP1000 is old,
AK8PSP1000B is medium, AK8PSP1000B2 is newest till now.

If i have PSP-1004k with datacode 5C, but my firmware is 2.71 (I'm upgrade it, factory fw was 1.52) can I use the modchip? Will it be working or not?

At 6/21/2006 07:40:00 pm, Blogger eja said...

To tapakah: your have a 1004 boxcode C (1.52), is not a TA-082.

All european PSP with 2.00 or lower appear to have 5C datecode. Maybe 5 = 2005, 6 is 2006, and C = 3th quarter and A = 1st quarter?

To banzzai: I do not know! 6A looks suspicous. Boxcode should be H or I.

Ok 0okm you said:

PSP-1000 (Box Code H) come with FW2.50

Well I have PSP-1001(Box Code H) come with FW2.50 as well.

And they say that TA-082's are 2.60 and higher, basically box code I.

So, only way to find out is if I open my PSP right? Or maybe you can tell right away.

Also, my PSP is data code 5D, instead of 5C...

eja said Maybe 5 = 2005, 6 is 2006, and C = 3th quarter and A = 1st quarter?

So my PSP was made in the 4th quarter of 2005, and I purchased on March 2005... 4th quarter September-December, which mean i dont have TA-082 right?

And as I posted on QJ comments, th e printed manuals say printed on October 2005 in china, so probably a BIG chance of being TA-081 or below, allowing me to install the modchip.

Need confirmation from eja or 0okm jic. ;)

Edit: March 2006, not 2005 xD

to cbmaster: We need your information! On these tiny pieces homebrew progresses. If you tell us what you have got, that would be interesting. BTW PSP-1000 got no datecode. Maybe the first 2 letters of the serial number, but then the decoding is not trivial.

So Banzzai and cbmaster, tell us. I foto'd my 1000-GCW H and 1004-K F and uploaded to rapidshare. But please don't do unscrew anything if you do not know how to reassemble it.

At 6/22/2006 02:54:00 pm, Blogger CBMaster said...

To eja: The first two letters depend on the country where the PSP was manufactured. SU are early versions of the PSP in Japan, while FU are made in China. After many PSP's I've gone through, I have my latest PSP purchased in MARCH 2006 and it was manufactured in October 2005 in China, probably one of the first PSP's to be made there. And the store did not have any PSP's in stock those days in March, so there are probably a lot of 2.5 PSP's out there (Box Code H).
I have disassembled my PSP before. If I am willing to get this modchip pro installed... I have no soldering experience, then I'll open it up mainly to reveal the PCB. But Ill surely take pictures of the battery compartment...

YAY NO TEXT ON MINE! WOO HOO! Also my friend bought his PSP a month ago, and he didn't have TA-082! Wow!

At 6/22/2006 09:24:00 pm, Blogger CBMaster said...

Also:

Update: According to early reports, some people are finding "IC6001" located on the other side of the UMD drive than what is pictured. This is an indicator for TA-081 PCB's and WILL be compatible with Undiluted Platinum. If you don't see "IC1003" than you are good to go!

No text on either side. I have a TA-079 or TA-080 on a PSP I purchased March 06, and neither my friends! Wow, that means that the chance of TA-082 is .10% or less!

I am going to get that modchip!

Oh and its my birthday today. I turn 13. Yes I'm very young to know all about PSP.. it's my love for it xD.

Crack boot protection on TA-082? If the MCP 1.8V/1.8V is programmed with the same fw 1.0 or fw 1.5 image as usual it should work? Only thing to look for is signal levels, from LSTTL 3.0 V changed to 1.8 V. I think flash has higher voltage then SRAM. Or did the IPL change?

PSP New Ver. HardWare (5/18/2006)

At 6/23/2006 11:16:00 am, Blogger eja said...

I read ps2dev a lot :P

My point: I have never seen a TA-080.

I have 1 PSP-1004K-C, datecode 5C, it is TA-079.

I have 2 PSP-1004K-F, datecode 5C, they are TA-081.

I have 1 PSP-1000CW-H, datecode 5C, it is TA-081.

All pictures on the net, FCC, lik-sang, users, they are 79 or 81. (Or 82) but no 80 !

I think maybe a boxcode D or E might contain a TA-080. F contains TA-081 afaik.

BTW On UMD drive look:
If PCB shows ic1003 then TA-082.
If PCB shows nothing then TA-081.
If PCB shows quad resistor then TA-079.

PSP New Ver. HardWare (5/18/2006)

is not about TA-080
is about TA-082 not just voltage problem

So you removed a MCP 1.8V device, reprogrammed it with a 1.00 or 1.50 FW, the VERIFY was ok, you soldered the MCP back to the TA-082, and it still did not work. Ok.

Are 2 MCP's 1.8V between 2 TA-082 interchangeable? If yes then difficult, if no then very difficult. (A MCP has a factory programmable id, which is not erasable or changeable, so can be used as decryption seed.)

If yes then we need one correct FW =< 2.00 and it could used on every PSP.

If no then every FW is different.

no
the problem not on "MCP ID"

&

each PSP with FW2.xx have different "SIG check key" !!
how to generate "SIG check key" for v2 prx ?

>>Ookm
I know the thread, and I do not know how to generate SIG's. ;P

PSPPet(http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=5533) states:
We don't know how to REGENERATE (Aka Encrypt) PRX files.

The "key" area you see at the start of the PRX is only part of a relatively complicated decryption process (it is merged in with several other "keys" stored in the PSP - and run through the decryption hardware)

See the PsarDumper (source code) for how to decode PRXs (up to version 2.5)

End quote.

Where are these several other keys? Are the contained in MCP? If you can swap two MCP-1.8V with each other it means that ALL secrets are contained in MCP.

At 6/23/2006 05:12:00 pm, Blogger 0okm said...

yes
We know ALL secrets are contained in PSP :P

Nobody with a TA-080 ? We are looking for a PSP-100x-K with boxcode D or E.
All confirmed C or lower are TA-079, all confirmed F are TA-081.
So should be D or E.

erm i really have a problem and i've been hearing about you all over the internet so i thought you could help. i bought my psp ages (literally) ago. before it came out in the UK, around june of 2005. it's so old i think that the motherboard is pre TA-079. i have a downdater for psp version 2.81 and whenever i try it it says not TA-079-081. its definitely not TA-082 because there is no writing in the place that you specified and it doesnt brick with the downgrader. it came with v1.5 but i was dumb enough to update because i never knew about homebrew. how can i downgrade my psp? plz help! plz email me at muslim_jagani@hotmail.com (and please every1 else dont send me junk mail!:D)
