I don't own TA-082 motherboard PSP,
but I have seen quite few people who got
their PSPs messed up by this patch at
PSP Hacks forum.

It's worth installing the fonthack before doing anything that installs a TIFF hack wallpaper.

Then you can easily unbrick by removing your memory stick - I've had problems with tiff hack wallpapers failing to load, and without fonthack (or UP) then you can have an unrecoverable brick.

Daniel: You may want to try restarting lots and lots of times, including variations like having the memory stick in or out, or the wifi switch on or off. Occasionally you may get lucky.

I have the same problem with my psp after performing the "autoexec HenC Installer". I found out that you must have a "HENC" folder inside of your "PHOTO" directory. When I place the hen_c exlpoit.tif (http://dax.lan.st/hen_c.rar) on my memory stick; my psp was able to boot and performs the "flashes red then blue". It then flashes a Black Screen just like it would when starting hen_c from the PHOTO menu. The memorystick light even flashes before the display is freezes. NOTE: While my psp display was frozen I open the UMD drive and press the UMD access switch and was amaze that the UMD Drive was still working.

I'm gonna tried placing other tif exploit (fonthack, fileassistant tif)inside the "HENC" folder just to see what happens.

0okm, do you have this problem too?

>> Fanjita
why fonthack can unbrick psp ?
is it can run some BIN before load wallpaper
or
is PSP will not load wallpaper if it can't load font ?

>> DRaGoN_STyLe
i test all my psp havn't this problem
and file in PSP/PHOTO/HENC just is a binary loader

0okm, please read my comments at the AutoExec_Hen_C_Installer_v0.32 post! thanks.

0okm. It will allow an unbrick if it reads the font from the memory stick. If that data is corrupted, or the meory stick is removed, then you will get a blue screen that tells you to restore default settings. It will not load the wallpaper allowing you to recover from a semi-brick.

0okm, then why is it that my psp freezes immediately after booting when I don't have a folder name "HENC" in my "PHOTO" directory? With a "HENC" folder, my PSP attempts to load the autoexec henc mod flashing red then blue before it freezes!

--Thanks for the wallpaper remover mod......my PSP is functioning agian! But I'm still curious why my PSP was having the above explained problem!

see "File List" on http://0okm.blogspot.com/2006/10/hen-c-autoexec-mod-v032-by-0okm.html
rename Original pspbtknf.txt to pspbtknf.bak
rename Original h.bin to h.bin.bak
restore all file like "After Install Hen C AutoExec mod"
then you can run unistall

Ookm:
When I get in DevHook and select 2.71F it gets in HEN and always freezes.

Can you try to fix this so that it doesn't automatically start HEN in DevHook 2.71F?

Would it be possible to copy some parts of a 1.50 dump and some parts of a 2.0 or higher firmware dump to make a custom dump that can play 1.50 homebrew and have the Sony web browser?

If it is possible, which files would I need to copy to make this hybrid dump that I could emulate with the DevHook that launches on 2.71?

0okm, I forgot to tell you thank you. :p

I appreciate what you are doing and your work. Even though some people fail to see it, you are helping a lot of people. As a ta-082 owner(original 2.5) I was dissapointed that you stopped softdown and thought you left psp hacking forever. This program is much more stable than running henC from the photo menu and has saved me time. Maybe with henC automatically running, it would be possible to automatically run devhook on reboot.
Any way, thank you for your work.

before
%/vsh/module/common_util.prx
$%%/vsh/module/vshmain.prx

after
